Abstract

Pulmonary artery catheter knotting is a rare complication of pulmonary artery catheterization. In this case report, we describe the smooth removal of a pulmonary artery catheter after recognition of strangulation during insertion of this catheter in a patient undergoing open heart surgery due to aortic and mitral stenosis and tricuspid valve insufficiency.
